Our CAST & CREW page is live, and you can read all about our A-MAZING cast there. Meanwhile, here are their beautiful faces:
So honoured and grateful to all who auditioned, you are wonderful and wish we had 117 parts to cast.
For those who auditioned in the first few weeks something went wrong with the e-mail-auto-collection so have contacted you via various social media. Very sorry about that, and hope the message has reached you.
Stay tuned for our CAST ANNOUNCEMENT – cannot wait to share this incredible group of voice actors with you!
The Y2K casting call just closed and we are so happy and honoured and grateful and humbled by all the wonderful voice actors who auditioned.
Now begins the very exciting and very difficult casting process. We definitely listen carefully to every audition, and may ask for recalls for some parts. We will get back to everyone who auditioned during the month of June.
Stay tuned – we are very much looking forward to announcing the cast!
We are so happy and proud to have been selected to take part in International Podcast Month this September! Our prologue episode will be released as part of this wonderful celebration of podcasts and podcasters, as an audio drama minisode. Please subscribe to the International Podcast Month feed now, so you don’t miss it! If you subscribe, you can also listen to all the brilliant content from last year, all completely free. See? A-mazing all around!
Yesterday we set our casting call out into the world – after many many hours of thinking and adjusting and asking people to check and trying to get it just right. So far the response has been really good, many wonderful retweets and facebook shares from the generous audio drama community, and genuine interest from voice actors.
Now all we can do is wait, try to answer any questions that pop up, and hopefully by early June we will have the loveliest and most wonderfully diverse group of voice actors portraying Olivia, Johnno, Rachel, Shirin, Claire, Bri, Maia and Kerstin.
They will be joining our existing cast of Janis as Kat, Karin as Jess, Anna as Tammi and Lina as Emma. Twelwe actors! Wow. When the idea was taking shape it was only supposed to be two… Looking forward to some fun but confusing group chats!
“Hey, um, I’m Olivia and this is the Y2K podcast! I guess I should tell you what this is all about… So a few days ago I managed to get my Mum’s old laptop working. I was hoping to find baby pictures of me, there are hardly any and I was curious. I rummaged around this really old black-and-white dodgy-looking interface and found — absolutely no baby pictures. No pictures at all actually. But I did find something else. These old audio files, dozens of them, all labeled with dates from January 2000 onwards. It seems to be a conversation in voice mails between my Mum and a friend of hers, and I’ve only listened to a couple of them but they seem… interesting somehow. Though it’s weird to hear Mum so young – I’ll be 20 this year and she would have been about… 25 when this was recorded. Almost the same age. Cool. But so weird. OK I’m rambling. I thought this would make an interesting podcast. So… Here are the first messages.”
